DUSHANBE, October 2, Asia-Plus — A business forum with participation of Tajik and Indian entrepreneurs is expected to be held in Dushanbe on October 12.
Press service of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) said that an agreement on holding the forum was reached at a meeting of the CCI head Sharif Said with Indian Ambassador to Tajikistan Omar Singh in Dushanbe yesterday.
Some 30 Indian entrepreneurs, presenting various branches of Indian food, textile and processing industries, are expected to attend the business forum in Dushanbe. During their stay in Dushanbe, Indian entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to visit some Tajik enterprises.
During the meeting, the Tajik CCI head and Indian diplomat also discussed the possibility of launching joint ventures in different branches of industry, the press service said.
Sharif Said outlined processing of cotton and textile manufacture as areas of which could drive the bilateral trade between the two countries.
The sides also considered issued related to establishment of free economic zone in the Khatlon province.
