DUSHANBE, August 8, Asia-Plus — Russian medical workers are continuing to provide assistance to their Tajik colleagues.
Another group of Russian medical workers has arrived in Tajikistan to carry out medical examinations in the provinces.
Safar Sayfiddinov, the head of the department of organizing medical services of the Ministry of Health (MoH), told Asia-Plus that 12 Russian skilled medical workers arrived in Tajikistan on August 6. “During a month, they will carry out medical examinations and consultations in the districts recommended by the Tajik side,” the MoH official said, noting that all expenses on carrying out these events are paid by the Russian side.
At present the Russian medical workers are in Kolkhozobod and on August 10, they will visit the city of Kulob.
“These medical examinations are of great benefit for Tajikistan, because treatment of infectious, cardiac and endocrine diseases remains topical for our country,” Sayfiddinov said.
We will recall that it is already the second team of Russian medical workers arriving in Tajikistan.
The first group Russian physicians, comprising ophthalmologists, cardiologists, therapists, surgeons and otorolaryngologists, was in Tajikistan from July 24 to August 2. During ten days, Russian physicians and nurses examined more than 660 people in the Khatlon province.
Medical workers’ visit is part of the project for creation of organization of health care and social security within the area of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
