Tajik fighter Azam Ghaforov is fighting for ACA championship belt today.  “At the moment, I have one goal to win this championship belt.  It is very important for me and for my fellow countrymen.  Everyone is waiting for this belt,” Azam told Asia-Plus in an exclusive interview yesterday.

Three Tajik fighters are participating in ACA 99 in Moscow today – Azam Ghaforov, Fakhriddin Sobirov and Sharaf Davlatmurodov.  For Sobirov and Davlatmurodov it will be the revenge fights. 

The 26-year-old Azam will face the 34-year-old Russian fighter Yunus Yevloyev for the ACA flyweight title.   

Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA), formerly known as Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB), is a Russian mixed martial arts, kickboxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu organization and one of the leading promotions in Europe.

To date, most events have been hosted in Grozny, Russia.  ACA also hosted events in other Russian cities, as well as in Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
