DUSHANBE, July 23, Asia-Plus – RIA Novosti – Saudi TV channel “Mecca” plans to organize satellite broadcasts to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Armenia and Baltic countries, Russia’s RAI Novosti reported on July 20. 

According to the Russian news agency, the main goal of the TV channel Mecca is to educate viewers, make them aware of spiritual, ethical and humanistic values of Islam.  

Among the main tasks of the TV channel that will broadcast in the Russian language is to shatter artificially created myths about Islam, separate notions such extremism and terrorism from religion, and protect Muslims against influence of radicals and use of Islam for political interests.  .

It is supposed that TV channel Mecca will open its branches in the mentioned countries.  

The date of the beginning of the broadcasts has not been reported.
