Afghan government delegation will visit Dushanbe to study Tajikistan’s experience in achieving peace and national accord, according to the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES).

A source at a MoES says that during his meeting with Tajik Minister of Education and Science Muhammadyusuf Imomzoda, Afghan Ambassador to Tajikistan Mohammad Zahir Agbar reportedly said that the delegation will visit Dushanbe on the personal instructions of Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

According to him, the Afghan president gave such an order after his official visit to Tajikistan in early March.

Tajik minister and Afghan diplomat discussed issues related to expansion of educational cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan and training of personnel for Afghanistan at Tajik universities, the source added.

Recall, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on March 30 noted in an opening speech at the 9th Ministerial Meeting of the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process in Dushanbe that Tajikistan stands ready to upgrade its cooperation with Afghanistan in the fields of science, education, culture, arts, information and social activities to a new level.

Currently more than 500 Afghan students reportedly study at Tajik universities, Tajik leader said, noting that during the entire period of Tajikistan’s independence, more than thousand Afghan citizens have graduated from various universities in Tajikistan and earned their degree.

Tajikistan can train specialists for brotherly Afghanistan in the fields of electricity, healthcare, irrigation, agriculture, railways, road construction, construction, architecture, various technologies and hundreds of scientists, Rahmon noted.
