Tajikistan’s privately owned air carrier Somon Air has increased the number of regular flights from Dushanbe to Tashkent – from once-weekly service to twice-weekly service.
Beginning on April 23, Somon Air will operate two Dushanbe-Tashkent-Dushanbe- flights per week – on Mondays and Fridays.
Passenger fares on the Dushanbe-Tashkent flight operated by Somon Air start from 1.783 million somonis.
Recall, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan agreed to resume regular flights between Dushanbe and Tashkent in January this year.
Somon Air and the flag carrier airline of Uzbekistan Oʻzbekiston Havo Yoʻllari now operate regular flights between Dushanbe and Tashkent.
At first, the airlines operated one flight a week each — Somon Air operated flights on Fridays and Oʻzbekiston Havo Yoʻllari operated flights on Wednesdays.
Uzbek national air carrier increased the number of regular flights in early April. Beginning on April 3, Uzbekistan Airways operates two Tashkent-Dushanbe-Tashkent flights per week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Passengers on these flights must have a certificate showing the negative result of COVID-19, obtained by testing by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, and made no earlier than 72 hours (3 days) prior to arrival. Children under 3 years old are exempted from having such a certificate
Besides, in accordance with the updated requirements of Uzbekistan, passengers over 2 years old arriving in Uzbekistan from abroad must show and a certificate showing the negative result of COVID-19, obtained by testing by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, and made no earlier than 72 hours prior to arrival.
Meanwhile, foreign citizens wishing to fly from Tashkent to Dushanbe must have a permit from the authorized body of Tajikistan to enter the territory of Tajikistan as well as visa (if required) and a certificate showing the negative result of COVID-19, obtained by testing by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, and made no earlier than 72 hours (3 days) prior to arrival.
Air traffic between Tajikistan and Dushanbe was suspended on March 16, 2020.
Tajik authorities have suspended all international flights. Tajikistan closed all its airports at midnight on March 19-20 due to the coronavirus concerns. Only charters flights to repatriate Tajik nationals stranded in foreign countries due to the coronavirus crisis have been operated so far.
To-date, Tajikistan has resumed regular flights to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Istanbul (Turkey), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Almaty (Kazakhstan) Moscow (Russia) and Kabul (Afghanistan).
