DUSHANBE, July 22, 2008, Asia-Plus — The aircraft Boeing 737-300 with 138 passengers and 6 crew members on board made an emergency landing at an airport in Chimkent, Kazakhstan yesterday night.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Ms. Nazira Davlatova, a spokesman for Tajik state air carrier, TajikAir, said that the aircraft flying from Khujand to Moscow diverted to the Chimkent airport because of problems with conditioning system. No one was injured, she said.
According to her, TajikAir’s TU-154 was sent from Dushanbe to Chimkent to take Boeing’s passengers to Moscow.
A special commission has been set up to investigate in the reasons for conditioning system breakdown, the spokeswoman said.
