DUSHANBE, December 28, Asia-Plus – Access to news and information about China just has become easier.

Today, representative from the Chinese Embassy in Dushanbe and Tajik officials opened China’s Culture Corner in the National Public Library named after Abulqosim Firdavsi in Dushanbe.   

Sharif Toshev, director of the National Firdavsi Public library, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that the event staged by the Chinese Embassy jointly with Tajikistan’s Minister of Culture is dedicated to mark the 15

th

anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and China.   

The Corner will provide up-to-date information on China’s politics, economics, culture, history, and society, as well as facilitate cooperation between China and Tajikistan, serving as an important link between the peoples of the to countries.       

According to Toshev, the Chinese Embassy will provide the library with TV set, DVD’s and other informational materials bout China.  A photo exhibition entitled “China’s Harmony: Strivings and Dreams” opened in the library on sidelines of the event.  Some 150 photographs telling culture and life, as well as stages of development of China have been put on display in the exhibition.
