On Tuesday March 1, Russian state news agency RIA Novosti said that the second round of the Russia-Ukraine talks would take place in Belarus, near the Belarus-Poland border.
Yuri Voskresensky, a Belarusian political scholar who is close with the Russia-Ukraine talks, said one of the possible venues for the coming talks is a villa eight kilometers from the Polish border.
The negotiation is likely to see two more participants from the Ukrainian delegation. There could be changes in the membership of the Ukrainian delegation. “It's possible to include members of the Verkhovna Rada [Ukraine's Parliament] who didn't attend the first round of talks," Voskresensky said.
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian presidential aide told CNN Wednesday that the delegations will be in the same composition.
Russia says the second round of the talks will take place in Belarus today.
The first round of talks on Monday lasted for five hours and ended without a breakthrough.
Meanwhile, the United Nations says 227 civilians have been killed and 525 wounded in Ukraine. More than one million people have fled, it adds. “In just seven days we have witnessed the exodus of one million refugees from Ukraine to neighboring countries,” UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, said in a Twitter post.
The UN General Assembly demands Russia stop its offensive in Ukraine. The vote was 141 to 5, with 35 abstentions.
