DUSHANBE, August 25, Asia-Plus — The current state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation were aims of discussion of Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov with visiting head of Russia’s Council of Federation (Russia’s lower chamber of parliament) Sergey Mironov in Dushanbe on August 25.  

According to information presidential press service, in the course of the talks the two expressed satisfaction with expanding cooperation between the countries in all spheres.  

Tajik prime minister expressed hope that the Tajik-Russian inter-parliament forum would make a significant contribution to further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia.   

The source added that following the meeting with Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov Sergey Mironov was received by President Emomali Rahmonov.   Their talks focused on a number of problems impeding development of relationships between the two countries.  They also touched upon the issues related to regional integration.
