QURGHON TEPPA, August 8, Asia-Plus — The Tajik southern
province
of
Khatlon
plans to export 55,000 tons of agricultural goods this year. The province, has exported 447 tons of farm produce to the CIS states so far.
Sohibjon Ziyodulloyev, the head of the Khatlon branch of “Tojikmatlubot” (consumer’s union) commenting on this subject has told
Asia
-Plus that farmers ought to closely cooperate with “Tojikmatlubot” sub-divisions dealing with sale/purchase of farm produce.
Mr. Ziyodulloyev has noted that amount of vegetables planted by Khatlon farmers this year has been insufficient, “therefore the prices of vegetables on the market have risen.”
According to him, on an initiative of “Tojikmatlubot” a series of shops have been set up in the province and a cannery has been launched at the Danghara bakery under support of
Iran
.
