DUSHANBE, July 5, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday July 5, Mr. Adrian Van der Mayer, Head of the European Commission’s Delegation to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, who arrived in Dushanbe for a working visit yesterday evening, met with Deputy Prime Minister Asadullo Ghulomov.
The source in the EC Dushanbe Office, has told Asia-Plus that in the course of the talks the two discussed a state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between the Government of Tajikistan and the European Commission.
Today, the head of the European Commission’s Delegation is also scheduled to hold talks with the Economy and Trade Minister Hakim Soliyev and heads of a number of other ministries and organizations of
Tajikistan
, as well as senior representatives from international organizations accredited in the republic.
We will recall that the main assistance instruments used by the European Commission in
Tajikistan
are: Technical Assistance for the Commonwealth of Independent States (TACIS), the Food Security Program (FSP), the Exceptional Financial Assistance (EFA), the European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) and humanitarian assistance (ECHO).
