Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, is planning to launch its UMTS (3G) network in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on December 4.
Subscribers with handsets, which support 3G, can use new services of company – Video call and 3G internet.
3G is mobile communication of new generation and new opportunities for communication and use of Internet-service.
Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, became the first city in the region where MTS launched its next-generation network.
Additional cities will be launched in 2009, including Samarkand, Bukhara, and Andijan.
