Incomes of private mobile communications last year totaled about 3.63 billion somonis (equivalent to 333 million US dollars), which is 14.9 percent more than in 2021, according to data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Meanwhile, incomes of Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Tojiktelecom (the state-run phone and internet company), State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Pochtai Tojik (Tajik Post) and other structural divisions of the Communications Service under the Government of Tajikistan last year reportedly amounted to only about 197 million somonis (equivalent to only 20 million US dollars), which is 17.2 percent more compared to 2021.
A total income of all communications operators of the country last year exceeded 3.7 billion US somonis (15.1-percent increase compared to 2021).
As of January 1, 2023, a total number of Internet users in Tajikistan was 3.8 million people, and a total number of mobile subscribers in the country was more than 6.5 million people, with about 6.4 million of them being active mobile communications users.
There are five mobile service providers now operating in Tajikistan: Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) Indigo Tajikistan (Tcell); CJSC TT-Mobile (Megafon Tajikistan); CJSC Babilon-Mobile; Tacom LTD (ZetMobile); and CJSC O’Mobile.
