DUSHANBE, May 8, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan’s National Red Crescent Society (NRCS) has organized motor-run across the districts of the Rasht Valley (eastern Tajikistan) to mark International Day of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

’s National Red Crescent Society (NRCS) international humanitarian law program coordinator, has told Asia-Plus that the motor-run was launched on May 6 and will finish in


Dushanbe


on May 9.   

According to Soliyev, participants in the motor-run have visited Fayzobod, Roghun, Nurobod, Tojikobod and Jirgatol districts.  

ABOUT: The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the world”s largest largest group of humanitarian non-government organizations, often known simply as the Red Cross, after its original symbol.  The Movemnet is composed of, but must be distinguished from: the International Committee for red Cross (ICRC), a committee of Swiss nationals based in Geneva, Switzerland, which leads the Intentaitonal Movemnet and which has special responsibilities under International humanitarian law and the International Federation of red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRCS, which is the composed body of all national Red Cross and Red Crescent socieites which was established to coordinate International releif actions and promote humanitarian activties), and the 181 individual natioanl Red Cross and Red Crescent socieities.
