Kyrgyz media reports say Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev yesterday met in Bishkek with Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan V, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a working visit.

Akchabar.kg reports that during the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation, including in the fields of education, healthcare, tourism and social development.

Adylbek Kasymaliyev reportedly welcomed Prince Rahim Aga Khan V to the Kyrgyz Republic and conveyed greetings on behalf of the country's President Sadyr Japarov.

He also expressed gratitude for choosing Kyrgyzstan as the venue for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture ceremony.

The Prime Minister noted the significant role of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan, especially its contribution to the implementation of important projects in various sectors of the economy and social sphere.

The head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet also mentioned the activities of the University of Central Asia (UCA) in Naryn, which, according to him, provides young people in Kyrgyzstan and throughout the region with excellent opportunities to receive a quality education.  He emphasized the positive impact of the UCA on the social and economic spheres of the Naryn region, contributing to the development of remote mountainous regions of the country.

Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan V, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and his interest in continuing fruitful cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic.

This was followed by a ceremony to cancel a new postage stamp dedicated to the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the AKDN, confirming their readiness to further strengthen and expand their partnership in various areas.
