All categories of farms in Tajikistan have produced more than 700,000 tons potatoes by November 4, including about 500,000 tons of potatoes produced by farmers from the northern province of Sughd, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).
An official source at a MoA says Tajik farmers this year have planted potatoes on a total area of 32,100 hectares.
Tajik farmers reportedly plan to produce 1.108 million tons this year. Last year’s potato cultivation target stood at 1.06 million tons.
In 2023, Tajik farmers plan to produce 1.170 million tons of potatoes.

According to data from the MoA Crop Cultivation Directorate, a total area under potatoes in Tajikistan is 32,158 hectares, including more than 13,300 hectares allocated for potatoes in Sughd province, 9,700 hectares in districts subordinate to the center (RRP), more than 5,800 hectares in Khatlon province and about 1,300 hectares in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous region (GBAO).
