Known Tajik writer and poet Timur Zulfikarov to mark his 70th birthday in August

, April 10, Asia-Plus – In August, a known Tajik Russian-language writer and poet Timur Zulfikarov will be 70. 

Timur Zulfikarov, who has lived and worked in Moscow since the Seventies, intends to visit Dushanbe to see his relatives and friends ahead of his jubilee, according to information from the Tajik Embassy in Moscow.

, Timur Zulfikarov last week met with Tajik Ambassador to Russia Safar Safarov.  In the course of the talks the two discussed issues related to cultural interaction between Tajik and Russian peoples, according to Egamzod.  The ambassador highly appraised a role of Tajik intelligentsia currently living in


Moscow


in strengthening and expansion of cultural cooperation between


Tajikistan


and the


Russian Federation


.  

The Tajik Embassy in


Moscow


intends to hold a series of exhibitions and literary parties dedicated to works of Timur Zulfikarov. 

One such a party was already held in


Moscow


on April 6.  

We will recall that in autumn 2004, Timur Zulfikarov received the Russian 2004 “Yasnaya Polyana” Literary Award in the nomination “Prominent Fictions of Russian Literature” for his roman “Golden Parables of Khaja Nasriddin.”
