DUSHANBE, October 26, 2010, Asia-Plus — Three insurgents were killed and one other was seriously wounded in a military operation in Rasht district on October 25, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI says four assault rifles Kalashnikov and several hand-made explosive devices were found at the scene of skirmish.
“They were members of the illegal armed group of Abdullo Rahimov (Mullo Abdullo) and Alovuddin Davlatov (Ali Bedaki),” the source said, adding that some 20 militants have been killed and some 30 others have laid down their weapons to this day.
We will recall that Tajik government forces have been carrying out operations targeting militants in the Rasht Valley since October 22 after 28 servicemen of the Ministry of Defense were killed and 14 others were wounded in an ambush on a military convoy in Kamarob Gorge on September 19.
