Agroinvestbonk provides more than 811.8 mln somoni in loans in Jan-Sept 2010

DUSHANBE, October 26, 2010, Asia-Plus  – Over the first nine months of this year, open joint-stock company (OJSC) Agroinvestbonk, which is one of the largest commercial banks in Tajikistan, has provided more than 811.8 million somoni (equivalent to more than 185 million U.S. dollars) in loans, which is 40.2 percent more than in the same period last year (in January-September 2009, the bank provided some 579 million somoni in loans), according to Agroinvestbonk’s head office in Dushanbe.

Over the same nine-month period, Agroinvestbonk has provided microloans for more than 255.7 million somoni, which is 18.3 percent more than in the same period last year.  Microloans accounted for 31.5 percent of the overall amount of loans provided by Agroinvestbonk in January-September this year.

Compared to January-September 2009, the dollar and euro remittances to the bank over the report period reduced by 3.2 and 1.0 percent respectively, while the Russian ruble remittances increased by 61.9 percent.

Physical entities have remitted some US$331 million, more than €1.6 million, and more than RR8.7 billion to the bank in January-September 2010.

Attracted resources and loans rose 56.7 percent in the year to September 30, 2010, reaching more than 1.1 billion somoni.

Agroinvestbonk’s assets rose 41 percent in the year to September 30, 2010, reaching more than 1.511 billion somoni and its liabilities rose 50.4 percent over the report period, reaching more than 1.301 billion somoni.

As of September 30, 2010, the bank’s capital amounted to some 210 million somoni (1.2 percent rise).

Founded in 1992, Agroinvestbonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 61 other branches across the republic.
