Six companies declared bankrupt in Tajikistan and 28 others next in turn

DUSHANBE, October 25, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Since the beginning of the year, six domestic companies have been declared bankrupt due to financial problems, Nusratullo Davlatov, the head of the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, told reporters in Dushanbe on October 25.

Among them are five companies based in Dushanbe, namely Bihokor Ltd, Somonelit, Melbourne Holding, Plonar, and Citizen Ltd, as well as Hamdilon from Hissar district, Davlatov said, noting that 28 other companies that have failed to repay their tax debts are next in turn.  “Decision on declaring these 28 companies bankrupt will be made only by court,” Tajik chief tax officer added.

According to the statistical data from the Tax Committee, the tax collection target for January-September this year has been overfulfilled by 7.2 percent.  Over the report period, Tajik tax officers have collected 2.8234 billion somoni.
