DUSHANBE, September 13, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Mirzoali Boltuyev, the chairman of Tajikistan’s Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER), will attend the OSCE chairmanship seminar on present state and prospects of application of electronic voting in the OSCE participating States, which will take place in Vienna on September 16-17,  the source at CCER said.

According to him, experts on elections from all the OSCE participating States have been invited to attend the seminar.

“The Tajik CCER head plans to raise the issue of organization of electronic voting during elections held in Tajikistan and prospects of introduction of electronic voting to Tajikistan’s voting system,” the source said.

This expert seminar is organized by the Kazakh Chairmanship of the OSCE, in co-operation with the OSCE”s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).  It will provide the opportunity for discussion of the experiences of OSCE States with different forms of electronic voting, existing international standards, forms of regulation and potential future developments in electronic voting in the OSCE area.

The CCER source added that Tajik CCER had received proposal from Kyrgyzstan’s Central Election Commission to send its observers to Kyrgyz parliamentary election that will take place on October 10.
