DUSHANBE, August 23, 2010, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon today convene a meeting in Dushanbe with senior police and security officials to discuss efforts to detain prisoners that escaped from Dushanbe’s pretrial detention facility overnight, according to presidential press service.

Senior police and security officials reported on an ongoing operation to detect and detain the escapees.

By president’s order an operational group has been set up to seek and detain the escapees.  Minister of Interiors Abdurahim Qahhorov heads the operation group, the press service said.
