President inaugurates Tajik-Greek JV, new school in Bobojonghafurov district

DUSHANBE, July 10, 2010, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon has inaugurated a new Tajik-Greek joint venture, Olympia, in Bobojonghafurov district, Sughd province.

Launched by closed joint-stock company, Khujand-Invest-Cotton, and the Greek company, EMKAT S.A., the enterprise processes cotton seeds and grains.  A total project cost is 2.130 million euros.

The rated capacity of Olympia is up to 10,000 tons of finished product per hour.  The enterprise has created 25 new jobs for local residents.  

Today, Emomali Rahmon also attended a ceremony of an official opening of school # 84 in the settlement of Dusti, Bobojonghafurov district.

A new two-story school to accommodate 240 pupils is provided with all necessary education.  The construction of the school was funded by local entrepreneur Tavakkal Vositov, who spent 1.4 million somoni for construction of this school.

Local authorities have provided the school will all necessary furniture and decoration materials for a total amount of 130,000 somoni.
