DUSHANBE. May 26. “Asia-Plus” — A team of agitators from the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan departed yesterday, May 25, to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO) to carry out the project on “Counter-narcotic preventive and prophylaxis events”.

According to DCA, the project provides for prophylaxis, awareness and explanatory work among residents of regions in Gorno-Badakhshan with the goal to draw their attention to the problem of drug use, mobilize them to combat drugs and crime and formation of healthy lifestyle.

“Within the next two weeks the team of agitators, which includes representatives from the President’s Office, DCA officers, drug experts, clerics and actors from Lahzahoi Guvoro theater, will visit three regions of GBAO and present lectures and discussions of prophylactic character, show performances on drug theme,” the source said.

The “Conduction of counter-narcotic preventive and prophylaxis and explanatory events” project is funded by OSCE. OSCE representatives will also take part in project implementation.
