Under the Decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan, 990 imprisoned persons were pardoned in honor of National Flag Day.
The document on amnesty was signed on 16 February during the meeting of the State Security Council. Speaking at the meeting Berdymuhamedov stressed that “a strong state is the one that practices principles of humanity and charity.”
Berdymuhamedov instructed relevant managers to ensure compliance with the Decree, to allow the pardoned to meet the National Holiday at home.
