More than 60 Iranian companies put on display their products in exhibition in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, November 24, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Iran’s national exhibition opened at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe on November 23.

Speaking at the inaugurating ceremony, the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Sharif Said, noted yesterday that representatives of more than 60 Iranian companies and130 Iranian entrepreneurs have arrived to participate in the exhibition.

“The aim of the exhibition is to promote further expansion of economic and trade cooperation between our countries and attract investments for development of Tajikistan’s economy,” the CCI head noted.

According to him, more than 155 Tajik-Iranian joint ventures have been launched in Tajikistan by this day due the previous similar exhibitions and fairs.

For his part, Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Ali-Asghar Sherdoust, said that the exhibition was evidence of expansion of bilateral cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan, and “we hope it will promote further expansion of economic, political and cultural cooperation between our countries.”

He noted that the exhibition provided new opportunities for Iranian and Tajik entrepreneurs to launch joint production ventures.  “We expect the exhibition to result in signing of a number of cooperation agreement,” Sherdoust said.

Iranian companies have put on display their achievements in food, mining, and energy industries as well as tourism at the fair in Dushanbe.

Organizers of the exhibition, which runs through November 27, include the Government of Tajikistan, Iranian Embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s CCI, and Iranian companies Soroush-e Khorasan and Grow International.
