DUSHANBE, November 11, 2009, Asia-Plus — A conference of representatives of business communities of Tajikistan and China will be held in Dushanbe on November 13 in the framework of a visit of the Chinese trade mission on encouragement of investments to SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) states, according to the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest).

The President of the China-Europe Association for Economic and Technical Cooperation (CEATEC), Mr. Xu Bingjin, will arrive in Tajikistan at the head of a delegation, which includes senior representatives of some 50 enterprises from different regions of China.

Representatives from relevant ministries and organizations, business associations and private sector will represent Tajikistan at the forum, the source said.

A number of investment projects in the sectors of energy, agriculture, tourism, communications, and transportation will be presented at the forum.  A series of meetings between the Chinese delegation and Tajik entrepreneurs will be held on sidelines of the forum.

The source noted that speaking at the SCO summit in Yekaterinburg (Russia) in June this year, Chinese President Hu Jintao said that China would send delegations of Chinese entrepreneurs to the SCO member nations to promote expansion of trade and economic cooperation within the SCO area.

Visit to Tajikistan is a part of the Chinese delegation’s tour of Central Asia, during which they are also visiting Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
