DUSHANBE, August 24, 2009, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon will pay an official visit to Croatia in late August – early September this year, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
During the visit, Emomali Rahmon will hold talks with his Croatian counterpart, President Stepan Mesic, and some other high-ranking Croatian state officials to discuss issues related to bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Rahmon and Mesic are planned to discuss the process of implementation of agreements that were reached during President Mesic’s visit to Tajikistan in May this year.
We will recall that the official visit of Croatian President Stepan Mesic to Tajikistan has resulted in signing of three documents.
On May 24, 2009, Stepan Mesic held talks with Emomali Rahmon and then negotiations with participation of the government delegations of the two countries were held. The negotiations resulted in signing of three documents.
The presidents signed a joint declaration on expansion of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries. Besides, the sides signed a protocol of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Croatia and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan and Croatian Chamber of Economy.
