Tajik private airline launches its website

DUSHANBE, August 3, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan’s first private air carrier, Somon Air, has launched its website –

www.somonair.com.

The Somon Air press service says the website will contain information about the company’s activities, flight schedule and airfares.

At present Somon Air offers international routes from Dushanbe to the Russian cities of Moscow and Krasnoyarsk, as well as Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Frankfurt am Main (Germany.  In addition, it also operates flights Khujand to the Russian cities of Krasnoyarsk and Sochi.  The airline also offers domestic air route from Dushanbe to Khujand.   

Somon Air is an airline based in Dushanbe. It is Tajikistan’s first private air carrier. Somon Air was granted an operating license and aviation operator certificate in 2006.  As of January 16, 2009, the Somon Air fleet included Boeing 737-400 (which is operated by East Air) and Boeing 737-800.
