DUSHANBE, July 22, 2009, Asia-Plus — A survey conducted by Russia’s Center for Public Opinion Research has shown that 85 percent of residents of Tajikistan support Tajik president’s activity.
According to the center, 34 percent of the surveyed Tajiks assess their competency as “good” or “very good.”
The public opinion poll has shown the most important problem, over which Tajiks are concerned, is unemployment – 58 percent.
The center conducted the survey in 14 former Soviet republics (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan) in April-May this year. Some 1,100-1,200 people were surveyed in each of these countries.
