DUSHANBE, July 9 2009, Asia-Plus — In a report released at a press conference in Dushanbe, Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov, the head of the board of Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank), noted on July 8 that this year, Amonatbonk jointly with the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest) has worked out a package of projects for a total amount of 1 billion US dollars.
According to him, the projects have already been submitted for consideration to the Inter-bank Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
“Besides, Tajik savings bank has signed a credit line agreement with China’s central bank for 5 million US dollars within the framework of the SCC Inter-bank Council,” said the Amonatbonk head, “Of this amount, one million dollars are provided for purchase of new equipment for the coal field Koni Sayod, which located not far from eastern part of Dushanbe. For out part, we are monitoring the process of sale of coal from the Koni Sayod field and it is to be noted that they have already concluded agreements on selling coal to Afghanistan and Pakistan.”
The remaining 4 million US dollars will be spent for supporting farm produce-processing enterprises in the country, Mahmadaminov said.
