KULOB, June 12, 2009, Asia-Plus — Over the first five months of this year, 492 new cases of tuberculosis have been detected in Khatlon’s Kulob, which is 30 cases more than in the same period of last year, according to Kulob TB Prevention Center # 2.
Serious tuberculosis situation has been reported in Hamadoni and Khovaling districts. “In Hamadoni, 77 new TB cases have been detected over the report period, which is 48 cases more than in January-May 2008,” said the source, “In Khovaling, 24 new TB cases have been reported over the same five-month period, while only two TB cases were registered in the district in January-May 2008.”
Besides, 114 new TB cases have been detected in Vose and 142 in Kulob. “Compared to January-May 2008 the number of officially registered TB patients has increased by 22 in Danghara, by 25 in Muminobod, by 26 in Temorumalik, by 39 in Farkhor, and by 23 in Shuroobod,” the source said.
