Government session considers preparations for autumn-winter 2009-2010

DUSHANBE, April 28, 2009, Asia-Plus  — An April 27 government session, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, considered preparations for autumn-winter 2009-2010.

According to presidential press service, the president demanded at the meeting that adequate measures should be taken to ensure regular work of electricity, natural-gas and heating supply systems during the next autumn-winter period.  The relevant ministries and organizations were charged to consider issues related to providing nationwide shift to energy-saving light lams and increasing fuel and food reserves.

The session also endorsed a plan of actions as well as republican commission for preparations for autumn-winter 2009-2010.

The meeting also approved the program for rehabilitation of pump stations for 2010-2015.  Implementation of the program is expected to provide with water some 360,000 hectares of lands.

The cabinet meeting also passed regulations on extending loan repayment period and endorsed a number of bills that were sent for consideration to parliament, the press service said.
