KHUJAND, April 5, 2011, Asia-Plus — Five more industrial enterprises have entered the Sughd Free Economic Zone (FEZ) bringing a total number of companies functioning within the FEZ to 12, the Sughd FEZ administration head Anvar Yoqubov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
Among them are limited liability companies Ofarin, Nekon, Gorif, Khizmat and Khujandsoz (the Khujand construction department).
Ofarin will produce aluminum shapes and 2.5 million U.S. dollars are expected to be invested in this enterprise. This enterprise with capacity of producing 1000 tons of aluminum shapes per year is expected to begin to operate in 2012 manufacture.
Nekon plans to build a meat-processing plant with capacity of processing more than 1,900 tons of meats per year. A total cost of the project is 5 million euros.
Gorif will offer services to haulers. The company will provide maintenance support; it will also build parking lot, hotel and café. According to its business-plan, Gorif plans to invest 360,000 U.S dollars in this project.
Khizmat is expected to build a woodworking enterprise within the Sughd FEZ. A total cost of the project is 1.2 million U.S. dollars and construction of the enterprise is scheduled to be finished next year.
Khujandsoz will manufacture reinforced concrete frames, plates and reinforcement rods. A total cost of the project is more than 465,000 U.S. dollars.
The Sughd FEZ began to operate on August 18, 2009 and the first enterprises were registered with the FEZ on August 18, 2010.
