DUSHANBE, June 2, 2011, Asia-Plus  — By mayor’s decree public transport fares in Dushanbe have been changed again.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, says the new decision is based “on differentiation of pricing policy in the field of passenger conveyance.”

Under the new decision, the fixed-route taxi routes ## 1, 2, 8, 10, 14, 16, 18, 19, 25, 28, 33, and 54 are divided into two parts each and new routes are established —  ## 1a, 2a, 8a, 10a, 14a, 16a, 18a, 19a, 25a, 28a, 33a, and 54a.  Fare for these routes is 80 dirams (0.80 somoni)

Fare for gasoline and diesel-powered minivans Gazel and Starex Hyundai running on routes ## 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 21, 22, 24, 26, 34, 43, 44, 52, 55, and 67 is 1.00 somoni, while fare for liquefied-gas-powered Gazel (Russian type of minivan) running on routes ## 5 and 22 is 70 dirams.

Fare for bus routes ## 3a, 11, 14, 20, 23, 26, 27, and 30 will be 60 dirams, while fare for bus routes ## 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 8a, 13, 18, 28, 37, and 41 is 1.20 somoni.

Fare for trolleybus is raised to 70 dirams.

Besides, municipal public transportation agencies are to study opinions of residents and organize, in case of necessity, an express bus service (an express bus service is a bus service that is intended to run faster than normal bus services between the same two commuter points) on routes ## 1, 3a, 8, 18, and 37.  An express bus service will cost 1.20 somoni.

They are also to organize, in case of necessity, an express fixed-route taxi service on the following routes: 1, 2, 8, 10, 14, 16, 18, 19, 25, 28, 33, and 54.  An express fixed-route taxi service will cost 1.60 somoni.

As it had been reported earlier, public transport fairs will rise in Dushanbe beginning on June 1.  This measure, coordinated with the antimonopoly agency, has reportedly resulted from rising prices for fuel and spare parts.
