DUSHANBE, December 31, 2008, Asia-Plus — Uzbekistan has decided to raise stay and transit fees for Tajik transport and on cargoes headed to Tajikistan.
According to information posted on Uzbek government’s website (
www.gov.uz
), new stay and transit fee rates are set for transport means crossing Uzbekistan’s common border with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan starting from January 1, 2009.
By Uzbek government’s resolution of December 17 beginning on January 1, 2009, Tajik transport means will pay $70 for each day over the first three days of stay in Uzbek territory. The current stay fee is $50,
New additional duty for entering in and passing through the Uzbek territory in transit is set for Tajik transport means at $50, the resolution said.
