KULOB, October 13, 2011, Asia-Plus  — A seminar entitled “The Strategy of Fight against Human Trafficking and Forced Labor” has been held in Kulob.

Organized by the National Center for Combating Human Trafficking, Faculty of Law at Tajik National University and the International Organization for Migration (IOM)’s Mission in Tajikistan, the seminar has brought together representatives form public associations and officers from the law enforcement authorities of Kulob.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Jumakhon Karimov, head of the Interior Ministry organized crime control department (UBOP) noted that the Prosecutor-General’s Office has instituted four criminal proceedings over trafficking Tajik women to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for sexual exploitation this year.

According to him, all persons suspected of having been involved in human trafficking have been detained and the traffic victims have been delivered.
