DUSHANBE, December 17, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A working group of the Ministry of Health (MoH) has completed inspection of medical facilities in northern Tajikistan.

The source at a MoH said that the commission had inspected more than 200 facilities, including 17 district hospitals, 85 centers and clinics, and 105 health centers, in the Sughd province over the past two weeks.

The inspection results were summed up at a board meeting of the Sughd health directorate.  During the meeting, it was noted that heads of medical facilities, where serious shortcomings had been revealed, now face disciplinary action.  To remove existing shortcomings, the working group recommended preparing a plan of actions and a special program for development of the Sughd health sector.
