DUSHANBE, December 14, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Three separate operations carried out by drug police yesterday led to the seizure of some 37 kilograms of narcotics.

Colonel Mansour Bukhoriyev, head of the Interior Ministry”s Drug Trafficking Department (drug police), says more than 35 kilograms of cannabis were intercepted in Qurghon Teppa, administrative center of Khatlon province.

A drug peddler was detained at the Dushanbe airport Tuesday evening.  A 40-year-old resident of Dushanbe, Husein Vohidov, reportedly ingested several wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 724 grams.

Besides, 1 33-year-old Mirzohalim Rizoyev, who has previous conviction for drug trafficking, was detained in Dushanbe yesterday.  Nearly one kilogram of cannabis was confiscated from him, Bukhoriyev added.
