DUSHANBE, January 5, 2012, Asia-Plus — The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) deputy leader Mahmadali Hoit considers that the latest staff changes do not give any hope.
According to him, annual staff changes introduced by the president are not able to tackle the problem of bringing the country out of a deep crisis because new personnel are appointed mainly by the principle of personal loyalty to the president.
“Before November 2011, when relations between Tajikistan and Russia deteriorated because of jailing of two pilots working for Rolkan Investment Ltd and Russia began deporting Tajik migrant workers in retaliation for the jailing of the pilots, the Islamic Revival Party considered that selection of personnel is purely own affair of the president,” said Hoit. “But we realized last November that national security and the fate of millions of people depend on work of this team, and therefore, we stated that the president must renew his team.”
“Today, appointment of new personnel must be based upon principles of professionalism because only skilled managers will be able to bring the country out of the lingering economic, financial, and political stagnation.”
