KHUJAND, March 12, 2012, Asia-Plus — A number of gas-filling stations in northern Tajikistan have been temporarily closed for failure to comply with work safety requirements.
According to the Sughd inspectorate for work safety in industry, a private gas-filling station in the Isfara district has been closed for twenty days. “If the shortcomings are not removed within this period, the station owner will be fined 280 somoni,” Valery Haqdodov, a leading specialist with the Sughd inspectorate for work safety in industry, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Besides, the Khujand-based limited liability company Gulkhan dealing with installation of vehicle gas-cylinder equipment has been temporarily closed.
“Inspections conducted by specialists from the Sughd inspectorate for work safety in industry in 2011 and in January of 2012 recorded 1,933 instances of violation of the work safety regulations and violators were fined a total of 12,250 somoni,” Haqdodov said, noting that operations at 24 workshops have been temporarily suspended.
