DUSHANBE, December 1, 2008, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon yesterday evening left Doha, Qatar for Sana’a, Yemen for an official visit, according to the MFA information department head Davlat Nazriyev.
Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, Chairman of the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting Asadullo Rahmonov, State Adviser to the Tajik President for International Affairs Erkin Rahmatulloyev, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Economic Affairs Matloubkhon Davlatov and a number of other officials are accompanying President Rahmon on the visit to Yemen.
Today, President Rahmon is holding talks with high-ranking Yemeni state officials to discuss bilateral cooperation issues.
During his stay in Sana’a, President Rahmon is also scheduled to meet with Tajik medical workers who are currently working there on contractual basis. Some 600 Tajik medical workers currently work in Yemen, Davlat Nazriyev said.
President Rahmon will return to Dushanbe tomorrow.
