Use of Lithuanian seaports for transit of goods from Tajikistan discussed in Vilnius. The issue was discussed at the meeting of Tajik Ambassador to Lithuania (with Residence in Minsk) Kozidavlat Koimdodov with Lithuanian Deputy Foreign Minister Evaldas Ignatavichus and Chancellor of Ministry of Economy Gediminas Miskins.
As reported by the Tajik Embassy in Minsk, it has been stressed that Tajik-Lithuanian trade turnover in 2011 has increased by 32.5% as compared to 2010.
The sides have also discussed an opportunity to resume the work of the intergovernmental commission, setting up interparliamentary group of friendship, carry out the inventory of the legal basis, cooperation in industry, agrarian sector, education, health and tourism.
The sides also discussed conditions of the use of Lithuanian seaports for transit of goods from Tajikistan, establishment of joint enterprises, visa-free movement of owners of diplomatic passports from Tajikistan and Lithuania and share experience on training for border guards.
The sides have agreed to conduct a scientific and theoretical conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations in Vilnius, set up a working group of leading ministries and department to study and prepare offers for the Intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.
