KHUJAND, November 24, 2008, Asia-Plus — Tajik-German joint venture, closed joint-stock company (JSC) Aura of Sughd, has completed laying cable from the central substation in the city of Isfara to ensure regular work for the workshop for production of masonry unit (natural stone unit), which is used for lining buildings, Vladimir Chernolutsky, the head of office of German company in Isfara, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, installation of line transformer is also nearing completion.

“In December, some 20 persons will be trained in operating brick-sawing machines and they will work in two shifts,” Chernolutsky said.

“The up-to-date Russian-made equipment Prima and brick-sawing machine Victoria for producing masonry units have been installed at the quarry at the quarry Arabskoye and the test consignment of the units was produced in late September, Chernolutsky said, noting that the enterprise’s capacity is up to 1 million units per year. 

15 workers currently work with the quarry at an average monthly wage of 500 somoni.  They intend to double the number of workers at the quarry.

The main shareholder of the enterprise is German construction company, which assumes the 80 percent ownership interest in Aura of Sughd, and Tajikistan’s Somonbonk and a number of the private individuals from Tajikistan own 20 percent of the shares in the enterprise, Chernolutsky said.
