DUSHANBE, June 20, 2012, Asia-Plus — The trial of the 21-year-old Muhammad Tillozoda, the son of the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri, who is also deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), will begin in a court at the town of Vahdat on June 22.
Muhammad Tillozoda will stand trial for a fatal auto accident.
Tillozoda’s defense lawyer Buzurgmehr Ravshan says Ms. Justice Parvina Rajabova will preside over the trial.
“Investigation assesses the accident as moderately severe crime and if convicted, Muhammad Tillozoda could face up to three years in prison,” the lawyer said.
We will recall that the 21-year-old Muhammad Tillozoda was detained in early May this year. Tillozoda reportedly hit the schoolboy on May 3 as driving a car in Vahdat. The 12-year-old Muhsiddin Ortiqov died at hospital next day.
Muhammad Tillozoda is reportedly charged with traffic violation (Article 212 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code).
Muhammad Tillozoda is a student at one of universities in Malaysia.
