DUSHANBE, September 8, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Since September 7, the national TV channel, Shabakai Avval (Channel One) has been on the air around the clock.

Shabakai Avval is the second Tajik TV channel to be on the air around the clock.

We will recall that the news channel, Jahonnamo, is broadcast 24 hours per day.

Before that, Shabakai Avval aired 18 hours per day: from 6:00 to 24:00.

Shabakai Avval director Muhammad Ghoib says Shabakai Avval now can be picked up in 70 countries across the world.

Four national TV channels are now in operation in Tajikistan: Shabakai Avval; Safina; Jahonnamo; and Bahoriston (children’s TV channel).  There are also regional and private TV stations in the country, but many of them depend on government transmission equipment.
