DUSHANBE, September 18, 12012, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon today morning visited the Rushan district as part of his two-day working trip to the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).

According to the president’s official website, the president attended ceremonies of official opening of the boarding school for children with disabilities and a new modern school in the district.

While in Rushan, Rahmon also met with teachers and school students.  The president reportedly ordered relevant ministries and agencies to take adequate measures to promote further development of the Rushan district.  Rahmon, in particular, ordered to rehabilitate roads in the district administrative center as soon as possible.

Besides, the head of state ordered to build a small hydropower plant in the Bartang Valley, the source said.
