DUSHANBE, September 19, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Officers from the police station in the Vose district, Khatlon province detained Amirsho Gulmahmadov, resident of Khatlon’s Hamadoni district, at the Vose railway station on September 18 on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The Interior Ministry’s official website reports that 8.8 kilograms of hashish were found hidden in his car.  Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Gulmahmadov and an investigation is under way.

On the same day, Dushanbe resident Bobur Davlatov was arrested on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing.

A package of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing some two kilograms was confiscated from him.  Criminal proceedings have been instituted against alleged drug peddler and an investigation is under way, the source said.
