DUSHANBE, October 24, 2012, Asia-Plus — The annual European Week brings closer the European Union and Tajikistan, presenting different cultures and traditions from Europe to the audience in Tajikistan, establishing cultural ties between people.
The European week is an important tool of raising awareness on current relations between the European Union and Republic of Tajikistan, creating a detailed and clear image of the role of the EU in Tajikistan and of the EU integration process in the Tajik society.
According to press release issued by the EU Delegation Tajikistan, the program of the European Week 2012 that kicked off on October 23 includes series of events organized by Bactria Cultural Centre and its partners, representing the diversity of cultures in Europe, bringing closer the people of Tajikistan and European Union.
The European Week 2012 includes following events:
October 23, 2012, 10:30 – press conference at the Conference Hall of the EU Delegation to Tajikistan with participation of the EU Delegation, EU member states and Bactria Cultural Center;
October 30, 2012 at 18:00 – Concert of music pieces by the soloists of the Opera and Ballet Theatre named after S. Ayni at the Tajik National Conservatory named after T. Sattorov;
October 31, 2012 at 14:00 – Lecture «Cooperation between EU and Tajikistan» at the cinema hall of Bactria Cultural Center;
October 31, 2012 at 16:00 at the Cinema House (Union of Cinema Makers, ex. “Zebunisso” movie theater) – Opening of the European Movie Festival. Screening of “The Intouchables” (France);
November 1, 2012 at 14.00 – lecture on French writers by Tuychiboi Jumaev on French writers at the cinema hall of Bactria Cultural Center;
November 1, 2012 at 16.00 at the Cinema House – Screening of «Lila, Lila» (Germany);
November 2, 16.00 at the Cinema House – Screening of “Mother of Mine” (Finland).
